Movie opener description
For my final project, my group has decided to do a teenage drama. The movie opener will revolve around a girl (who I will be portraying), who has a seemingly perfect life. However, her life is actually falling apart. She is suffering from an eating disorder, he parents are getting a divorce, her "perfect" boyfriend is the worst person ever, and she absolutely hates herself. But, because she wants to portray herself as the picture perfect girl-next-door, nobody knows this and she still carries herself as if she is the cream of the crop. The main character goes to a little get together and meets up with her friends who she hasn't seen in a little while. As she is with her friends they ask her how she's been, how her parents are, her boyfriend, and then someone asks what her diet is because she looks so "in shape". All of this triggers our main character sending her to the bathroom to blow off some steam. From there, she washes up and freshens herself quickly then walks back out as if nothing happens, again keeping up this "perfect girl" persona.
So, the location will take place in either Lucia or Kimora's house and the cameras we will be utilizing will be Alexa's two canon cameras. For our microphone, we will have a ribbon microphone also provided by Alexa. As for cosutming, we are sticking with normal teenage girl clothing, so croptops/jeans/dresses/sandals/skirts, typical clothing you would find on the average girl. However, since the main character likes presenting herself in such a high manner, she will look a little more "pampered".
Everyone seems to be excited for my acting "skills", there is supposed to be yelling/crying and a whole lot of emotion and obviously I'm not an actress so it'll be quite difficult to pull it off but I think I'll get it done. It might not be perfect (it certainly won't be perfect) but if I try my hardest I'm sure it'll come out fine or at least decent. I, on the other hand, am very excited to just finish the project because I am anticipating the final product. I wonder if everything my group is envisioning will actually come true and be executed well! Also, knowing that I will look back at my high school experience and know that I made a mini "movie" is fun, plus this will serve as a bonding experience with my friends and I.
As for what I'm not too excited for is the editing... None of us are exactly "professionals" with editing, for me at least the most I can do it Imovie and even I struggle with that. My group is expecting a lot of smash cuts/jump cuts and we aren't entirely sure how to do it. We discussed using Premier Cut Pro and luckily Alexa said she has a little experience with that, but again none of us are all that great with editing. I'm also worried that what we envisioned won't be executed properly, I know what we exactly wan't probably won't come out looking like it was directed by Steven Spielberg, but we still want it to look somewhat professional. So, if it ends up looking terrible, I would be devastated. But, I know my group, and we would not let our project come out bad.
