SOUND

We definitely had a fun and unique experience with sound!

Since Alexa was our editor and in charge of editing, she made most decisions, however she did ask Lucia and I for some feedback and inout with her decisions. Our sound was edited using iMovie. The inspiration from our sound came from our storyboard and overall theme. We needed  depressing music since our film was going to be a drama, not a musical or any other genre that required happy music. Our dietetic sound was picked up and recorded by the camera that Alexa's father lent us, but internal thoughts that can be heard in the film were recorded using Alexa's phone separately on an app called Voice Recorder. The non-deigetic sound was also found and edited on iMovie.

The diegetic sound in our film would include the dialogue, background noises and ambiance (for example, the natural sound of nature when we were in Lucia's backyard, or when I was waiting in front of the door in the first few seconds), the party music, the noises I would make in the bathroom, and the inner thoughts I spoke.

The non-diegetic sounds would include the heartbeat that the audience can hear very loudly, however, my character can't hear her own very loud heartbeat.

Throughout the editing process, Alexa would allow us to listen to the sounds. She would often times send us what she had edited so far through email and we would give our feedback. This was a repeating process.

We had to find music that was not copy righted, which was a little difficult because we thought we had the perfect sound...then we figured out that it was copy righted. Luckily, Lucia found a decent sound that was not copy righted and we were able to use it!

I'm very happy with the completion of our project and I believe that the sound we used is very appropriate in regards to what we were trying to achieve!
